Bates, the world famous hatter, has had a presence on London’s Jermyn Street since 1898. In the past Bates has changed address due to property development and restoration. In February 2010, two great English companies with a combined trading history of 220 years were brought together. The esteemed and much-loved hatter Bates acquired a new home within the flagship Hilditch & Key store at 73 Jermyn Street. Today marks a special occasion as Bates has relocated again and their brand new flagship store is now open and can be found at 37 Jermyn Street.

Bates have supplied stylish hats and caps to discerning gentlemen for over 115 years and offer a personal and friendly service to customers from around the world. They also have a number of famous patrons, including Tom Jones, David Bowie, Eric Clapton and the artist David Hockney.
