Ede & Ravenscroft’s Autumn/Winter 2015 collection takes its inspiration from the grace and elegance of the Edwardian era.
Michael McGrath, Head of Design, has explored the company’s archives and drawn on the brand’s deep-rooted tailoring heritage.

In contrast to the relaxed style of Spring/Summer 2015, the silhouettes are more structured, but there is still the strong focus on soft, luxurious fabrics sourced from the finest mills in England, Scotland and Italy.

Autumn/ Winter 2015 at Ede & Ravenscroft incorporates a rich colour palette of saturated hues, from hunter greens and burgundies to the softer shades of camel and grey.

McGrath calls upon his Irish roots to name each piece – each one is named after towns and villages across Ireland – uniting the collection and the four complementing stories; ‘Uniform’, ‘City Gent’, ‘Out Of Town’ and ‘Formal Dress’.

Taking inspiration from Royal household uniforms in its archive, Ede & Ravenscroft’s outerwear features large peaked lapels and double-breasted looks. Trousers are less fitted with fishtail waistband detailing, an important silhouette for the collection. Key pieces include a sumptuous cardigan in pure cashmere, and the Ashford single-breasted jacket with Ede & Ravenscroft.

‘City Gent’
Employing a classic camel and grey colour palette this story encapsulates the modern lifestyle of the city gentleman. Cut from luxurious cashmere and wool blends from Italian mill, the Shannon coat and the Wexford double-breasted suit are the investment pieces for the Season.

‘Out Of Town’
Autumnal shades such as hunter greens and deep, rich burgundies are central to the ‘Out Of Town’ story, with subtle windowpane checks set against tonal corduroy and block colour knitwear. The Cloondara Coat – a timeless overcoat in a herringbone Donegal tweed – is lined in striking quilted burgundy and is inspired by the Ede & Ravenscroft archive.

‘Formal Dress’
Opulent deep velvet three-piece suits and separates in rich jewel tones of red, intense dark blues and purples complement the traditional formal collection. The classic dinner jackets are lined with antique metallic satins and accented with quilted lapels. The exclusive Ede & Ravenscroft fob watch jacquard and print in deep blue and black, with subtle metallic bronze detailing is used across accessories, slippers and linings.

“This collection encapsulates the perfect wardrobe for forward-thinking gentlemen who understand the traditional-yet-updated style of Ede & Ravenscroft” – Michael McGrath, Head of Design
