Festive Nordic cocktails at Aquavit
Renowned New York Nordic restaurant, Aquavit, can now be found in the St James’s Market redevelopment, with a new more relaxed, all-day dining concept that will showcase the very best of Nordic cuisine and design. To celebrate the festive season, the team at Aquavit London have developed a list of Nordic cocktails, perfect for the winter months. From the menu, the Nordic Bramble incorporates gin with lemon, cloudberry liqueur and pomegranate syrup; the Laponia Old Fashioned sees pumpkin infused
bourbon mixed with birch syrup and gingerbread; and the Bergen Bitter mixes orange and cinnamon aquavit with vermouth and chocolate bitters.
Christmas menus at the new venture from the Salt Yard group, Veneta, are designed for groups of 8 or above and start at £42.50pp. The menus feature some of their classic small Venetian dishes and cooking techniques, perfect for sharing, including chicken braised in almond milk with medjool dates and saffron as well as charcoal-grilled pork rib-eye, occhiato bean puree with grilled courgettes and cremosa.
Villandry St James’s
Villandry, St James’s is offering a delicious Christmas afternoon tea with mini mince pies, salted caramel brownies and turkey & cranberry sandwiches for £22.50 with a complimentary glass of champagne available at the weekends in December. Also available is their Festive Friends menu, starting the season with a pop allowing you to enjoy a two course dinner with unlimited champagne for £45.
Festive tipples can be found at Café Murano in St James’s, the newest creation being the Bella Figs cocktail combining sloe gin, dark rum, figs, grapefruit and ginger beer.
