On Tuesday 26th April 2016, renowned Italian restaurant Franco’s on Jermyn Street in London will launch its annual, highly anticipated 2016 rosé wine list. Franco’s collates the largest rosé list of any restaurant in Great Britain if not Europe! This year it will feature an astounding 70 rosé wines in celebration of Franco’s 70 years on Jermyn Street.
With a diverse selection of rosé wines from eight different countries, this year Italian wines dominate the selection, with 28 heralding from every region in the country.
Amongst the many producers who have a coveted place in the 2016 edition of Franco’s rosé Wine List are wines from Chateau Miraval – an ancient property in Provence owned and managed by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Another is a rosé wine made by Charles Melton – a quality winemaker from the Barossa Valley specialising in only red and rosé wines. Sparkling rosé wines such as the FalescoMetodoClassico Brut Rosé NV, which is exclusive to Franco’s and Ferrari Perlé Rosé are also featured.
Jason Phillips, General Manager of Franco’s, comments, “We have taken great pride and enjoyment in developing Franco’s rosé offering over the last 10 years and it is great to know thatour launch party has become the unofficial start of the rosé season. It is important for us to showcase a diverse and interesting range of wines that can delight and surprise in equal measure, reinforcing its status as a serious summer essential – and this year’s list is no different.”
New for 2016, the Franco’s rosé wine list will reflect more New World wines than previous years and 70% of the rosés listed are new additions to the restaurant’s offering.
Guests will be able to sample as many of the carefully selected rosé wines as they like, from Italy, France, England, South Africa and Spain – with some being exclusive to Franco’s this year. They will also have the opportunity to meet with some leading wine producers and importers. Canapés will be served throughout the evening and wines can be purchased at a reduced price on the night.
