With suiting, footwear, cufflinks and luggage, the Made to Measure event will showcase different degrees of personalisation – from made-to-measure to all-out bespoke.
Jermyn Street: Harrods Celebrates The Art Of Made-to-Measure
It will be an international affair, uniting Swedish shirtmakers with American high fashion, and Italy’s finest tailors with the old guard of Savile Row.
The three-day in-store celebration will feature an extended offering with Brioni, Tom Ford, Gucci, Prada, Ermenegildo Zegna, Armani and Berluti. Harrods customers seeking a head-to-toe Made To Measure experience will find everything from loungewear to leather goods and ties to tailoring, and all with the made to measure treatment.
Plus, there will be a preview of the latest collections from Gieves & Hawkes and Zilli, both new to the store for A/W14, and who will both be displaying their craftsmanship at Made to Measure.
Jo Harris, General Merchandise Manager of Menswear at Harrods, says: “A modern gentleman’s wardrobe is much more than a selection of suits, and the Made to Measure event reflects this individuality. A custom-made sports jacket or bespoke loungewear, for example, are just as, if not more, important than a precision-cut tuxedo. The weekend will be a showcase of the exceptional tailoring services available in our menswear departments, and has all you need to create the perfect winter wardrobe.”
The 24 participating brands are Boglioli, Brioni, Berluti, Billionaire, Canali, Dior, Corneliani, Deakin & Francis, Dolce & Gabbana, Ermenegildo Zegna, Eton, Gieves & Hawkes, Gucci, Isaia, Kiton, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Ralph Lauren Black Label, Stefano Ricci, Stemar, Tom Ford, Turnbull & Asser, Valextra and Zilli.
British cufflink-makers Deakin & Francis will have an engraving service for its current collection, plus bespoke cufflinks on request. Italian accessories brand Valextra will offer embossed personalisation of initials on luggage and small leather goods. Dior will present its made-to-order shoes.
Made to Measure will take place from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th October 2014 on the Lower Ground and the Ground Floors.
