Jermyn Street: Recognising a quality silk tie.
Andy Rowley shares key observations to help when purchasing and looking after silk ties. Andy Rowley is the shop manager at Budd Shirtmakers having worked with the company for more than 30 years. He started his career at Beale and Inman, where he worked for two years before joining Budd.

Rowley followed his father’s footsteps into the industry, who was a successful silk tie wholesaler, producing for many of the St James’s retailers between the ’30s and ’80s.

Throughout his thirty years, Rowley has found success using the knowledge he gleaned from his father, the rich heritage of the brand and the traditions of St James’s. His aim has always been to keep the brand’s legacy alive while expanding and gently bringing it into the modern world.
