Vancouver-based luxury retailer Kit and Ace designs and develops Technical Luxury™ apparel and they have opened a pop-up shop on Regent Street, the space spans 1,800 sq. ft. and sells selected items from the collection, including core styles made of Kit and Ace’s proprietary fabric Technical Cashmere™ – machine-washable cashmere enhanced with technical fibres.
Founded by Shannon and JJ Wilson, Kit and Ace has opened 32 shops and five pop-ups, including a shop on Redchurch Street in London, since first opening its doors in Vancouver, B.C. in July 2014. The Regent Street pop-up shop announcement is in line with the company’s ambitious growth plans.
“We’ve had a positive response in the UK and look forward to continuing this success on Regent Street,” said JJ, Co-founder and Head of Brand at Kit and Ace. “We’re offering locals a space to discover great clothing, hyper-local artwork and culture to drive real conversations – it’s a different way to shop.”
Kit and Ace typically incorporates “hyper-local” elements – custom quality pieces created by local artists and contractors – into its shops to reflect the market it operates in. The Regent Street Shop houses an exhibition space featuring the work of local artist Olivia Yu and an Iconic Photograph shot by Conor McNeil, which create an elevated shopping experience to engage locals beyond the traditional sense.
“Combining innovation and luxury is a key aspect of our brand,” said Shannon, Co-founder and Creative Director at Kit and Ace. “You can see this in our designs and the build-out of our shops. It’s about creating an authentic, luxurious experience with the local market in mind.”
Time is precious and Kit and Ace isn’t wasting it. The company plans to open 40 shops worldwide by the end of 2015.
