Last night saw Bowman Sculpture, the internationally renowned sculpture gallery in London’s St James’s, around the corner from Jermyn street, host a private view of the much awaited debut sculpture exhibition from Nicole Farhi.
Jermyn Street: Bowman Sculpture
Within the heart of the exhibition guests drank Perrier-Jouet champagne and were surrounded by an array of sculptural portraits of famous faces from the worlds of art, fashion, stage and screen.
Works in the show include busts of actors Dame Judi Dench, Bill Nighy and Helena Bonham Carter; playwright Tom Stoppard; Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue; and artists Lucian Freud, Francis Bacon and Eduardo Paolozzi.
Farhi has been sculpting for almost 30 years, throughout her career as a fashion designer, and full-time for the past two years. This exhibition at Bowman Sculpture marks her first ever in a gallery space.
