Last Friday The Gleneagles Hotel invited us to watch the Ryder Cup at The club, at the Ivy. We saw all the action on a big screen with touches of Gleneagles in the city. Cocktails were presented on arrival and canapés throughout the afternoon.

They came, they played, they conquered. Our journal and The Gleneagles Hotel would like to congratulate the 2014 European Ryder Cup team on their memorable triumph on its championship PGA Centenary course.

It was a pleasure to find out more about the world famous 5 Star luxury hotel in Scotland which provided a stunning setting for one of golf’s greatest competitions. They have also just announce their 2015 golf packages that will test any golfer – whether you are a leading pro or an enthusiastic beginner.

The Gleneagles Hotel was built in 1924 and is situated in 850 acres of beautiful Perthshire countryside, just one hour’s drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Gleneagles Hotel is a haven of luxury British heritage that offers a five star hotel experience. With 232 elegant rooms, including 26 suites, the hotel provides some of the finest accommodation in Scotland.

Not only home to three of the finest championship golf courses in Europe and an award-winning ESPA spa, the hotel also hosts an array of activities from Falconry to off-road Land Rover safaris. In 2014 Gleneagles hosted the 40th biennial Ryder Cup, marking the first time since 1972 that the competition has been hosted on Scottish soil.

They offer a range of corporate and society golf days. A winning blend of natural beauty and golfing adventure, the Gleneagles Golf Day packages provide an unbeatable experience. And also the Ryder Cup golf day where guests will get the chance to play on the same 18 holes.

We were also interested to hear that they offer a Ryder Cup shotgun star experience. The ultimate Gleneagles Golf Day! Where guests can grasp the opportunity to embrace the magic of The Ryder Cup with the exclusive shotgun start packages on The PGA Centenary Course.

However, for non-golfers, Gleneagles offers a variety of country pursuits and leisure activities to enjoy. The shooting and fishing schools offer clay target shooting and trout fishing, whilst the equestrian school provides coaching in all disciplines.

There is all-weather tennis, swimming, croquet, cycling, off-road driving and the opportunity for guests to unwind in the awardwinning ESPA Life spa.
