Following its appearances at Sofitel hotels in New York, LA and Paris, the photo exhibition “Revealed” arrives at Sofitel London St James from now through to the end of October 2015. We popped by the private view to see the artwork.
The photographic exhibition, taken from the photo archives of Paris Match and selected by Olivier Widmaier Picasso, the exhibition’s commissioner and grandson of Pablo Picasso, captures the greatest artists in modern and contemporary art in the intimate setting of their workshops.
In an extension of the “Revealed” exhibition’s successful momentum orchestrated by Sofitel Luxury Hotels in North America and Europe, Sofitel St James unveils to the general public 30 unique photographs that make up the exhibition.

Olivier Widmaier Picasso, comments, “I am delighted that the exhibition arrives in London. By making this selection, and by immersing myself once again in these photos, I have rediscovered these incredible documents which capture the intimacy of my grandfather and the other major artists featured in the exhibition.
This opened up new vistas, notably in regard to our relationship with images, and the way it puts different artists into perspective reveals the diversity of the creative process and the personality of each artists work. It is equally fascinating to discover who has the power ‒ the photographer, or the one being photographed!”
An international ambassador of French elegance, Sofitel makes links between its hotels and culture by engaging with famous artists, writers and photographers. Through “Revealed,” Sofitel London St James pays homage to the most emblematic artists, revealing intimate moments when inspiration comes to life through artistic expression and the artists personal universe.
In the exceptional selection of photographs, we discover Pablo Picasso in an unexpected daily routine; Salvador Dali installed in the heart of the Vincennes Zoo; Pierre Soulages lost in his work; Kees Van Dongen intimidating Brigitte Bardot; as well as René Magritte, Marc Chagall, Fernando Botero, Joan Miro, Jean Cocteau, Francis Bacon, Keith Haring and Jeff Koons… all Revealed!
