Recently Frescobaldi London held their latest Winemaker’s Dinner ‘Toscana by the Sea’ showcasing their Ammiraglia Estate, located in Magliano in the heart of the Maremma region of Tuscany. In this area the amount of sun and reflected light reach the highest levels and together with the marin breezes create particularly favourable growing conditions for the grapes.To enhance the unique character of this of this territory a reservoir was created to collect water and give freshness to the vineyards during the driest months of the year. The combination of all these factors gives the wines of Ammiraglia an exceptional variety, richness and aroma that are unique in Maremma.
The evening included a specially crafted 4-course menu to complement.the wines from the Ammiraglia Estate including: Alie Rosè, Massovivo Vermentino, Terremore Cabernet, Pietraregia Morellino Riserva, 3 vintages of the Crus Ammiraglia 2006, 2009 then 2011 and Quaranta Altari 2007, Vinsanto del Chianti. Highlights of the evening included having Giuseppe A. Pariani, who has been working for over twenty years for the Frescobaldi family in export markets, present the wines during the evening.Additionally all attending guests were entered into a raffle to win a luxury prize of an overnight stay for 2 at the Ammiraglia Estate with lunch and a tour (flights not included). The next Winemaker’s Dinner will present the Attems Estate, and will take place on Tuesday, 14th June 2016.
